Burnthwaite Farm

Burnthwaite Farm at Wasdale Head is in the Western Lake District. The farm sits at the head of Wasdale below Great Gable, Kirk Fell and Lingmell. This photograph was taken on Wasdale Show Day. I’d been taking photos from the side of Great Gable waiting for the sunset. Lacking patience I’d given up and was going to meet everyone in the pub. Leaving the farm I came out to this beautiful light so ran back upstairs for my camera. I’ve taken many photographs in Wasdale but without doubt this is my favourite.
Burnthwaite farm is a B&B and working farm run by a lovely couple and I would recommend staying there when in Wasdale.
