Thwaite
My favourite view of Thwaite and one that I return to time and again and I don’t think I will ever beat this shot. I was taking the normal shot of the bridge and village when I heard some voices behind me. I turned back and saw the cyclists, and with just enough time to recompose the shot I managed to get two shots off with this one the best. If I had asked them to pose they wouldn’t have been able to do it better than this one.
Thwaite is a lovely little village directly on the Pennine Way with a fine teashop to refresh weary walkers recovering for the arduous trip over Great Shunner Fell. After Thwaite, the Pennine Way winds it’s way through Swaledale with magnificent views as far as the eyes can see.
