Swinner Gill from the Pennine Way

Swinner Gill, Swaledale from the Pennine Way – I love the warm flashes of Autumnal golds and browns against the cool frosty ground, and the tumbledown drystone wall which frames Swinner Gill perfectly. Swaledale looks frosty and cold. It was -6°c that morning, and thankfully I had wrapped up for the weather conditions. I had a rather enjoyable few hours out with the camera, followed by a lovely breakfast in the café in Keld. The Pennine Way is a 268 miles long National Trail that runs from Edale to Kirk Yetholm. I’ve walked the Pennine Way 19 times and this section between Thwaite and Keld is one of the finest sections on the entire trail.
